Banana Spotting Bug Trap Kit
Banana spotting bug (BSB) trap kit is used specifically to monitor banana spotting bug (Amblypelta lutescens lutescens) populations. It consists of a large sticky board with a plastic holder in the centre for placing the BSB lure (sold separately). Replacement sticky pads are included to extend the life of the trap.
Target Crop
Banana spotting bug attacks a broad range of tropical fruit and nut crops including bananas, mangoes, avocados, custard apples, pawpaw, guavas, lychees, passionfruit, citrus, macadamias, pecans and cashews. The BSB trap kit is designed for use anywhere banana spotting bug may be present.

When combined with the BSB lure, the trap will attract and catch banana spotting bugs enabling accurate crop monitoring.
Place the BSB lure inside the plastic lure holder (supplied) and then insert the holder into the center of the trap board. Remove the wax paper from both sides of the trap board to expose the sticky surface. Only one BSB lure is needed per trap. Traps should be placed inside the canopy at a height of 1.5-2.5m, or where the pest usually resides.
Monitor traps regularly from early spring up to harvest for the presence of banana spotting bug. Replace the sticky surface of the trap every 2 weeks or when dirty or saturated with insects. Enough replacement sticky pads are provided for up to 6 weeks of monitoring depending on how regularly you replace the sticky pads. Replace the BSB lure with a new lure at least every 6 weeks.
When handling the lure wear disposable gloves and avoid contaminating the outside of the trap with the pheromone. Discard old lures and all material that was in contact with the lures from the field. This includes the BSB lure packaging and disposable gloves.
Application Rate
Insert 1 BSB lure per trap. Use 10 traps per hectare and place at least 40m apart in any direction.

Store unused BSB lures sealed in the original container. Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and out of direct sunlight. For optimal shelf life, keep refrigerated or in the freezer.
