ecocarb
ecocarb is an organic contact fungicide with activated potassium bicarbonate that rapidly kills both spores and hyphae. It fights powdery mildew in grapevines, capsicums, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries and roses. Ecocarb is also effective in fighting rust in geraniums if applied at the first sign of disease.
- Targets powdery mildew and rust
- IPM & pollinator compatible
- Zero withholding period
- Zero re-entry restrictions
- Minimal effect on soil biodiversity and adds a small quantity of potassium nutrition
Active Constituent: 940 g/kg POTASSIUM BICARBONATE
ecocarb is a contact fungicide that works by disrupting the fungus cell, causing the cell walls to collapse. Developed as part of Australian Wine Industry research into alternatives to copper and sulfur, ecocarb has proven itself as a frontline curative fungicide. Due to its low impact on beneficial insects and lack of soil residue impacts; ecocarb is also an important alternative to copper and sulfur where IPM is a key driver of good agricultural practice.
Crop | Disease | Rate | Critical Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Strawberries | |||
Vegetables: Capsicums, Zucchini, Glasshouse Cucumbers, Glasshouse Tomatoes |
Powdery Mildew | 300-400 g/ 100 L plus 200 mL Synertrol Horti-Oil |
Begin application at first sign of disease. Repeat application at 7-10 day intervals. Use the higher rate and shorter repeat interval under conditions of rapid plant growth or severe disease pressure. Apply to ensure complete and thorough coverage of all plant surfaces. Pay particular attention to the underside of leaves. |
Geraniums (pelargoniums) |
Rust (Puccinia pelargonii-zonalis) |
400 g/ 100 L plus 300 mL Synertrol Horti-Oil |
Begin application at first sign of disease. Repeat application at 7 day intervals. Apply to ensure complete and thorough coverage of all plant surfaces. Pay particular attention to the underside of leaves. |
Roses | Powdery Mildew | 300-400 g/ 100 L plus 200 mL Synertrol Horti-Oil or 3-4 kg plus 2 L Synertrol Horti Oil per ha |
Begin application at first sign of disease. Repeat application at 7-10 day intervals. Grapevines | Powdery Mildew (Oidium spp.) | 400 g/ 100 L plus 200 mL Synertrol Horti-Oil |
Begin application at first sign of disease. Repeat applications at intervals of 10 to 14 days as new growth or infection occurs, or if conditions favour disease. Apply to ensure complete and thorough coverage of foliage. |
Do not mix with acidifying materials. ecocarb is compatible with most crop protection products and nutrients that are stable under alkaline conditions. Avoid mixing with organophosphorus-type pesticides (for example, Group 1B Insecticides) or other chemicals that are susceptible to alkaline decomposition. A preliminary test with small quantities is recommended prior to use.

ecocarb is a highly alkaline material, thereforecompatibility is of great importance when tank mixing and the overall pH will be dependent on the quality of the water used to mix.
