Your organic weedkiller solution is here,
an alternative to Glyphosate!

You have the power to change the way in which your council and amenities manage weeds in your public areas. With extensive experience in helping you find the right solution talk to us today about the alternatives and how it will get the job done.

Slasher Organic Weedkiller contains 525g/L Nonanoic acid, also known as pelargonic acid and is a fatty acid which occurs naturally as esters in the oil of pelargonium plants. It is produced sustainably from biologically based raw materials using an environmentally sustainable patented method of extraction.

Slasher Organic Weedkiller is the first organically registered Pelargonic acid based “burn-down” herbicide developed and manufactured in Australia by OCP.

Independent trials have shown that Slasher Organic Weedkiller is considerably more cost effective than the standard organic weedkillers. It can be used where other herbicide sprays pose a potential risk and can drift long distances onto sensitive plants causing irreversible effects, and where lasting soil residues can be taken up by surrounding plants and cause long term physiological damage.

*NB: The label lists Nonanoic acid as the active ingredient which is another name for pelargonic acid. Government Regulations require that the scientific name of nonanoic acid be used on labels but it is worth nothing that the source and methods of the acid production can be very different with most not being organic (unlike with Slasher Organic Weedkiller).

Slasher Organic Weedkiller can be used safely in and around plants without any risk of off target drift causing irreversible damage when used under normal spraying conditions. No residues also means SLASHER will not cause any sub-lethal residual effects on surrounding plants and unlike some other herbicides will not upset the fertility of soils.

Slasher Organic Weedkiller can be used safety around areas where children and pets play and where other animals might graze after the spray has dried. This makes SLASHER a very versatile herbicide which can be used in just about all horticultural, agricultural and amenity horticultural situations as per DIRECTIONS FOR USE.

Slasher Organic Weedkiller will also control Moss, Algae, Lichen and Liverworts in paths, rockeries, tiled roofs, walls and driveways. This makes SLASHER very useful to Landscapers, Councils and other Parks and Garden officers who can safely use the product not only on weeds but across all surfaces where you might otherwise have to use a more corrosive or soil damaging heavy metal (Copper based) algaecide.

As the Grounds Manager for PLC we are continually looking for ways to reduce our chemical footprint on the beautiful bushland setting in which the school resides. Due to the very large areas we manage and topography, physical and mechanical weed control is near impossible in some areas, hence we have to use herbicides. Due to our desire to reduce the amount of residual chemicals we use and concerns around the use of Glyphosate based herbicides we decided to trial Slasher Organic Weedkiller in some of our environmentally sensitive areas and where students may frequent. We were very pleased with the performance of Slasher in these areas and will continue to use the product.

For best results with Slasher Organic Weedkiller do not spray if weeds are wet and don’t apply if rainfall is expected before spray deposits dry on plant surfaces. If you are going to irrigate do it a few hours before or 24 hrs after you apply SLASHER. Because SLASHER is a contact weed spray make sure you target the weeds and minimise drift onto sensitive plants or lawn.

Half fill spray tank and commence agitation. Slowly add required amount of SLASHER Weedkiller. Top up with required quantity of water. Agitate well before commencing spray procedure and occasionally agitate (shake) the sprayer every 5-10 minutes to keep the SLASHER well mixed in the spray water.

  1. Ensure that all weed foliage is totally covered with spray as SLASHER Weedkiller is a contact spray only. Partial coverage will give only partial control.
  2. Apply by ground equipment only using for example boom or spot sprayers. Apply using a coarse droplet spray. Optimum application volumes are related to weed maturity and density. Contact with the weeds is essential for control, as such apply in a way to ensure complete and thorough coverage of foliage.
  3. DO NOT spray porous surfaces without prior testing.

May cause discolouration on porous hard surfaces.

“As the Playgrounds Horticulturalist with North Sydney Council I am continually in the spotlight when it comes to weed control with herbicides. We tried Slasher Organic Weedkiller as a replacement for glyphosate in and around playgrounds, community gardens and other public spaces. Even though we did not find Slasher to be as effective as glyphosate on the large advanced weeds it was still very effective on smaller weeds. We also like the very rapid kill we got from the product and we will continue to use it where the general public see us spraying”

Edward Lahn, Playground Horticulturalist, North Sydney Council, NSW

“It works on juvenile weeds in garden beds that are regularly treated with Slasher – I would recommend a four week program, where you would head in each month to complete a spray before the weeds were to become an issue. And you were right, it showed better signs of a good kill rate on a much hotter day – a down side to that is weed control is needed all year round. Slasher was successful in killing juvenile weeds in this setting.”
