Yates RainSaver Water Storing Crystals

Yates RainSaver Water Storing Crystals improve the capability of soils and growing media to retain water and plant nutrients. Placed in the root zone of plants they capture and store several hundred times their own weight in water and soluble compounds such as fertiliser. Yates RainSaver is used in turf, landscaping, revegetation, nurseries, forestry, viticulture, olives, roses and potatoes
Features
- Yates RainSaver was designed specifically to improve the capability of soils and growing media to retain water and plant nutrients
- On the introduction of water, crystals swell dramatically to become super absorbent sponges
- 95% of absorbed water and nutrient is available back to the plant on demand through their roots, which grow directly into the water-swollen crystals
- The water and nutrient retained in the crystal is for plant use only
- Yates RainSaver is effective for approximately 5 years
- Yates RainSaver has an essentially neutral pH
- Yates RainSaver has a gel strength three times higher than all other water crystals available today
- Yates RainSaver has the highest and fastest absorbency under pressure (soil pressure) meaning it absorbs the most water in actual use conditions
- Yates RainSaver has the highest stability with fertilisers, nutrients and salts and does not contaminate plants, soils or ground water
- Yates RainSaver is suitable for use in turf, landscaping, revegetation, nurseries, forestry, viticulture, olives, cut flowers and vegetables
How It Works
A mix of high tensions, cross linked potassium ammonium based copolymers (water crystals) which are small (800-2000 micron) free flowing white granules that resemble sugar crystals when dry. On the introduction of water they swell dramatically to become super absorbent sponges. Placed in the root zone of plants they capture and store several hundred times their own weight in water and soluble compounds such as fertiliser. 95% of absorbed water and nutrient is available back to the plant on demand through their roots, which grow directly into the water-swollen crystals.
Direction for use
Potting Mix 650 – 750 grams per cubic metre;
Hanging Baskets Pots and Containers 5 grams per 5 litres of potting mix
Garden Beds 25 grams per sq metre mixed thoroughly into soil bed
Forestry Blend 3 grams of hydrated Yates RainSaver Seedling grade into the root zone with the seedling
Trees / Shrubs 5 grams per 10 litres of backfill, mix throughout backfill and ensure some Yates RainSaver is under the rootball as well
Turf & Seedling Lawns 10 – 20 grams per sq metre. Spread evenly over prepared ground before laying turf and for seedling lawns mix to a depth of 50 – 75mm in prepared ground
Bulk Soil Mixes 250 – 500grams per cubic metre For further recommendations, see product label.
Please Note: The only correct place for Yates RainSaver is in the root zone of plants.
