SPLAT LBAM HD-O
SPLAT LBAM HD-O is a pheromone-based mating disruptor for light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana). It has been formulated into a polymer matrix (a waxy paste) that allows for the sustained controlled release of the pheromone in orchards, vineyards and other crops.
Target Crop
Light brown apple moth is a polyphagous pest known to attack a broad range of plants including pome fruit, citrus, grapes and other crops. SPLAT LBAM HD-O is designed for use anywhere light brown apple moth may be present.
- Protects crops from damage caused by light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana) via mating disruption
- Can be applied cost effectively as multiple point sources across large areas for maximum mating disruption effect (600-1000 point sources/ ha)
- Not harmful to bees or other beneficial insects
- Does not induce secondary pest populations
- Helps reduce human and environmental exposure to pesticides
- Reduces the possibility of pesticide resistance by limiting their excessive use
- Easily applied with caulking gun or mechanically
95 g/kg E-11-TETRADECEN-1-YL ACETATE
5.0 g/kg E-9-E-11- TETRADECADIEN-1YL ACETATE
Plus matrix of plant oils, waxes and emulsifiers
SPLAT LBAM HD-O contains a sex pheromone for the light brown apple moth within a polymer matrix. The pheromone is continuously released by the polymer matrix into the crop which confuses the moths and effectively disrupts mating. The release period is influenced by the size of the dollop and to some degree by temperature and sunlight but a 1g dollop will last at least 6 weeks in an exposed position in the crop.
Apply SPLAT LBAM HD-O early in the season, or at the first detection of pests.
When applying by hand, apply 1g dollops using a spatula or caulking gun, to the upper level of plant foliage, tree canopy or as high in the trees as possible. When applying by mechanical methods, dollop size can range between 5-100mg (depending on machinery and crop requirements).
Use in conjunction with LBAM lure to monitor pest levels within the crop.
Application Rate
Apply 625-1000 g/ha. Use the higher rate to increase the mating disruption.
For best results consult a qualified pest control advisor, or your distributor, for specific instructions regarding the application rate and timing of SPLAT LBAM HD-O as this will vary depending on pest population, crop, and field conditions.
Suitable for use in any crop vulnerable to light brown apple moth.
Do not apply if rain is expected within 2-3hrs.
Do not apply if ambient temperatures are below 12°C or above 35°C.
Store unused SPLAT LBAM HD-O sealed in the original container. For short term storage (less than 2 months) store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and out of direct sunlight. Refrigerate for longer term storage. Avoid freezing.
